Tell us about the proposal!
On our third date, Hayley and I went to Matilda Bay for a picnic. It became a special place for us, and we went a few more times throughout our relationship. After I sold my house so we could buy together, I told Hayley we were going out to celebrate and booked lunch at the Matilda Bay restaurant. We enjoyed a few drinks with our lunch then sat on the grass with a glass of champagne overlooking the water. That’s when I pulled out the ring and asked Hayley to marry me!
Why did you choose Hope Diamonds?
A friend recommended and spoke highly of Hope Diamonds, having been there herself. After speaking to Julie and building a good rapport with her, I knew Hope Diamonds was going to be able to design the ring that I was looking for.
How did you choose your engagement ring?
On the phone and over email, I talked to Julie about the type of ring I was looking for. Julie gave me guidance as to what would be suitable, stones she had available and what would fit within my budget. I made lots of suggestions but also spoke of things I did not want. When the ring was designed, all of my requests were taken into consideration and I loved the first design.
Your experience at Hope Diamonds?
Hope Diamonds were extremely easy to work with. I initially called and queried their processes and prices; Julie was very helpful and realistic. After finding they could do what I wanted within my budget and timeframe, I emailed Julie with my requests as well as photos of rings to be used as inspiration when designing Hayley’s ring. Not long after, I was sent some CAD drawings and loved the first design. The first time I went into the office was to pick up the ring about a month after the initial phone call.
