Why we chose this stone

C2 is about as light as champagne diamonds get before they start reading as simply "white with a hint of warmth" — a faint, champagne-blush tone that shows more as a glow than a colour. In this 0.30ct pear cut, that subtlety works in its favour. The pear's elongated shape and brilliant-style faceting are built for sparkle first, and a light grade like C2 doesn't compete with that; it just adds a whisper of warmth to a stone that's already doing plenty of work catching the light. Pear cuts also tend to flatter the finger, and paired with a soft champagne tone, the effect is closer to a warmer white diamond than a bold colour statement. It comes from the East Kimberley region of Western Australia, the source of every Argyle diamond before the mine's closure.
