Why we chose this stone
At just over three-tenths of a carat, this oval cut still carries a full, confident C5 colour — a reminder that a champagne diamond's depth of tone comes down to grade, not size. The oval's elongated shape and brilliant-style faceting keep that golden colour in motion, breaking it into flashes that shift as the stone catches light from different angles rather than settling into one flat hue. Its shape also does useful work visually, with the length-to-width ratio typical of ovals making the stone look larger on the hand than its actual carat weight suggests. It comes from the East Kimberley region of Western Australia, mined before the Argyle pipe's closure ended that supply permanently.
At 0.31ct, this is a compact stone well suited to delicate settings, accent work, or a smaller design where genuine colour depth matters more than scale. It's a rare stone regardless of its size, drawn from a source that's now closed for good.
