Why we chose this stone

There's a reason C4 is one of the most requested champagne grades — it's gold without apology, warm without heaviness, the kind of colour that photographs well in almost any light. At 0.34ct, this cushion cut has just enough size to let that tone breathe. Cushion cuts have a particular way of handling colour: instead of laying it out in clean lines, the mix of larger and smaller facets scatters it, so the stone seems to shift between deeper and lighter gold as it moves. That movement is part of what makes cushion-cut champagne diamonds feel more alive than some of the more geometric cuts. Every stone in this colour range comes from the East Kimberley region of Western Australia, where the Argyle mine operated for almost four decades before its closure ended the supply for good.

At just over a third of a carat, this is a stone with enough presence to anchor a simple ring or pendant on its own, without needing a larger centrepiece to carry the design. It's a practical size and a popular colour grade — which, now that Argyle stones are finite, is exactly the kind of diamond that tends to be asked after most.
