Why we chose this stone

At C5, colour carries real weight — deep and confidently golden, a grade that sits comfortably past the midpoint of the champagne scale — and this 0.34ct oval cut shows it clearly despite its smaller size. The oval's elongated shape and brilliant-style faceting keep that tone in constant motion, breaking it into shifting flashes rather than one settled colour, so the depth of the C5 grade comes through as movement and life rather than density. It's a reminder that saturation isn't tied to carat weight; this stone carries just as much genuine colour character as a much larger one would at the same grade. The oval shape also does its usual work here, appearing more substantial on the hand than the actual weight suggests. It comes from the East Kimberley region of Western Australia, mined before the Argyle pipe's closure ended that supply permanently.

At 0.34ct, this is a compact stone with genuine depth of colour — well suited to a delicate ring, a pendant, or as a striking accent alongside white diamonds. It carries real saturation in an accessible size, from a mine that will never produce another one.
