Why we chose this stone

This 0.35ct oval cut carries the archetypal C4 champagne tone — warm, golden, and squarely in the middle of the scale — in a shape built to make the most of it. The oval's elongated outline and brilliant-style faceting throw the colour into small, constantly shifting flashes rather than one flat wash, so the stone reads as lively and bright rather than muted, even at just over a third of a carat. Ovals carry a useful visual trick too: their length-to-width ratio makes them look larger on the hand than the actual carat weight suggests, which helps a smaller stone punch above its size. It comes from the East Kimberley region of Western Australia, the source of every Argyle diamond mined before the pipe's closure ended production for good.
