C7 is the deepest, most saturated colour the Argyle scale produces — a true cognac tone bordering on chocolate — and this 0.35ct oval cut carries that intensity confidently despite its smaller carat weight. The oval's elongated shape and brilliant-style faceting keep the dark colour in constant motion, breaking it into flashes of deep amber rather than letting it settle as one flat tone, so the stone stays lively even at this depth of colour. Grades this dark were always the rarest outcome from Argyle's rough, regardless of size, which makes finding one in a well-cut, well-proportioned oval like this genuinely uncommon. It comes from the East Kimberley region of Western Australia, where the mine produced this colour range until its closure ended it for good.
