Why we chose this stone

This 0.36ct oval cut carries a C5 grade with genuine depth — a rich, confident gold that sits comfortably past the midpoint of the champagne scale without drifting into the darker cognac tones further up. The oval's elongated outline and brilliant-style faceting keep that colour in constant motion, breaking it into flashes that shift between deeper and lighter tones as the stone catches the light from different angles. At just over a third of a carat, the stone proves that strong colour saturation isn't dependent on size — the C5 grade reads just as clearly here as it would on a larger stone. The oval shape adds a further advantage, appearing more substantial on the hand than its actual weight suggests. It comes from the East Kimberley region of Western Australia, mined before the Argyle pipe's closure ended that supply permanently.
