Why we chose this stone

C4 is the colour most people picture when they think "champagne diamond" — warm, golden, and confidently in the middle of the scale — and this 0.37ct oval cut wears it well despite its smaller size. The oval's elongated shape and brilliant-style faceting were built to maximise sparkle, and here that faceting scatters the classic gold tone into small, shifting flashes rather than one flat wash, so the stone reads as lively and bright even under a carat. Ovals also have a way of appearing more substantial than their actual weight suggests, thanks to their length-to-width ratio — a useful trait when working with a smaller stone that still needs presence. It comes from the East Kimberley region of Western Australia, the source of every Argyle diamond mined before the pipe's closure ended that supply for good.
