Why we chose this stone

C4 is arguably the archetypal champagne colour — gold without apology, warm without heaviness — and at just over a full carat, this round brilliant gives that tone plenty of room to make its case. The brilliant cut's dense facet pattern was built for maximum light return, and here that translates into colour that never sits still: flashes of deeper gold alternate with brighter glints as the stone catches the light from different angles. It's a combination that's always been popular for a reason — a size that reads as a genuine statement, paired with a hue that's distinctive without needing any explanation. It comes from the East Kimberley region of Western Australia, the source of every Argyle diamond mined before the pipe's closure ended that supply for good.

Just past the one-carat mark, this stone sits at a size threshold that carries its own appeal, and a mid-toned C4 grade is often the colour buyers picture first when they think "champagne diamond." With the Argyle mine now closed, this particular pairing of size and classic colour is becoming harder to find with each passing year.
