Why we chose this stone

Over a carat and graded C3, this round brilliant has the scale to make a moderate champagne tone feel substantial rather than subtle. C3 sits just past the palest grades — enough gold to be genuinely noticeable, without tipping into the deeper cognac territory further up the scale. At 1.31ct, the brilliant's facet pattern has plenty of surface to work with, scattering that colour into countless small flashes rather than letting it settle as one flat tone. The result is a diamond that reads as warm and lively rather than heavy, with size doing a lot of the work to make the colour feel intentional rather than incidental. It comes from the East Kimberley region of Western Australia, where the Argyle mine operated until its closure ended production of these diamonds for good.

A stone over a carat is already a meaningful size for a centre diamond, and pairing that with a genuinely rare Argyle provenance makes this one worth real consideration on its own merits, not just its colour. It's a versatile grade — noticeable enough to feel distinctive, restrained enough to suit almost any setting.
