Why we chose this stone

Two carats is a genuine milestone for any diamond, and finding it paired with a C3 grade — light enough to stay bright, warm enough to feel unmistakably champagne — makes this round brilliant a rare combination within the Argyle range. The brilliant cut's dense facet pattern gives that softer colour plenty of room to move, breaking it into small, shifting flashes rather than one settled tone, so the stone reads as lively rather than muted despite its more restrained grade. Large stones at this lighter colour level were never a given, even in Argyle's most productive years; sizeable rough tended to favour deeper tones far more often than pale ones. It comes from the East Kimberley region of Western Australia, the source of every Argyle diamond mined before the pipe's closure ended production permanently.

At just over two carats, this is a true statement stone, and its C3 grade gives it a versatility that darker tones don't offer — noticeable enough to feel distinctly champagne, restrained enough to sit comfortably in almost any metal or setting. With the mine now closed, a round brilliant this large in this particular colour range is unlikely to surface again.
