Why we chose this stone

A round brilliant over two carats is already a significant stone, and finding one in C4 — the most classic, sought-after champagne tone — makes this diamond a genuine rarity within the Argyle range. The brilliant cut's dense facet pattern was built to maximise light return, and at this size, that means the warm gold tone never sits still: it shifts between deeper flashes and brighter glints as the stone moves, with plenty of surface for that movement to play out. Stones this large in this particular grade were uncommon even during the mine's operating decades, since sizeable rough and well-balanced mid-range colour didn't often coincide. It comes from the East Kimberley region of Western Australia, mined before the Argyle pipe's closure ended production of these diamonds for good.

At just over two carats, this is a true centrepiece stone, carrying both scale and the archetypal champagne hue that most buyers picture first when they think of this category. With Argyle production finished permanently, a round brilliant of this size and this classic a colour grade represents one of the last opportunities to own that exact combination.
