Why we chose this stone

At over two carats, this cushion cut is already a rare find within the Argyle range, and its exceptionally deep C8 colour grade puts it in a category almost entirely its own. The cushion's rounded corners and generous facets let that intense, saturated tone pool and shift across the stone rather than sitting flat, giving it real depth and movement in changing light. A stone this size, in this colour, was never common even during the mine's operating years — the darkest, most saturated Argyle diamonds were always the rarest outcome of the mining process, regardless of carat weight. It comes from the East Kimberley region of Western Australia, the source of every Argyle diamond mined before the pipe's closure ended that supply permanently.

At just over two carats with an extraordinarily deep colour grade, this is unmistakably a centrepiece stone — bold enough to anchor any setting on its own, with a level of rarity that very few Argyle diamonds still available can match. With the mine closed for good, a stone combining this size and this depth of colour is unlikely to be seen again.
