Made by hand at least 80 years ago and rescued from old estate jewellery in Antwerp, this antique old European cut diamond is a small piece of jewellery history. The high crown, small table and open culet give it the soft, glowing sparkle that sets old cuts apart from modern brilliants, with broad flashes of light and a gentle, vintage feel. At 0.96 ct, the round stone is just under a carat, which makes it a graceful size for an antique-style solitaire or a delicate period-inspired design. Because it was cut by hand, its facets are not perfectly uniform, and that individuality is a big part of its appeal. It is sold loose and unset, so your jeweller can design a setting that suits it.
