Hand cut at least 80 years ago and salvaged from old estate jewellery in Antwerp, this antique old European cut diamond has a history that you can see in the stone. Its high crown, small table and open culet scatter light in broad, soft flashes, giving it the warm, glowing sparkle that old cuts are loved for. At 1.28 ct, the round stone is a good size for a bespoke antique-style engagement ring, and its slightly irregular, hand-finished facets mean no two old cuts look quite the same. It is also a good fit for a restoration or a period-inspired design. The diamond is sold loose and unset, so your jeweller can build a setting around it.
