Finding two old cut diamonds that sit well together is rare, and this matching pair of antique old European cut stones, 1.25 ct in total, was cut by hand at least 80 years ago and salvaged from old estate jewellery in Antwerp. Both round stones show the high crown, small table and open culet of their era, with a soft, glowing sparkle and broad flashes of light that are very different from a modern brilliant. Their hand-finished facets give each diamond its own gentle personality while the pair still works together as a set. They are a lovely starting point for a bespoke pair of earrings, a matching set of rings or a period-style design that needs two complementary stones. The diamonds are sold loose and unset, so your jeweller can design the setting.
