This 0.64ct old mine cushion cut diamond was hand-cut more than 80 years ago and rescued from estate jewellery sourced in Antwerp. Cut using techniques and tools that predate modern precision faceting, it carries the hallmarks of the old mine style: a high crown, a small table, and larger, open facets that produce a soft, warm brilliance quite different from the sharper sparkle of a contemporary round brilliant. Its cushion shape, with softly rounded corners, gives it an unmistakably antique presence.
This is a stone that has already outlived the era it was made in, and the people who made it — and it's ready for a new setting, a new owner, and a new story.
