This 0.76ct old mine cushion cut diamond is a genuine survivor of that era, hand-cut more than 80 years ago and rescued from estate jewellery sourced in Antwerp — a city with centuries of history at the heart of the diamond trade. The old mine cut predates the modern round brilliant, and it shows: a high crown, a small table, and broad, open facets that give off a soft, candlelit glow rather than the sharp, calculated sparkle of contemporary cuts. Its cushion silhouette, with gently rounded corners, has an unmistakably vintage character that simply isn't replicated in stones cut today.
