This 2.37 carat oval cut Malaya garnet combines an elegant, elongated shape with the soft pink tones that make malaya garnets so distinctive. A natural hybrid of pyrope and spessartite garnet, malaya garnets are sourced almost exclusively from East Africa's Umba Valley region, making genuine stones a comparatively rare find in the gemstone market.
The oval cut is a versatile choice, flattering on the finger and well suited to both solitaire and halo settings, while its length-to-width ratio helps the stone appear larger than its carat weight might suggest. Like all malaya garnets, its colour carries subtle individual variation, giving the stone a character of its own.
