Why we chose this stone
This 2.51 ct emerald cut is a natural tanzanite from the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro in northern Tanzania, the only place in the world where the gemstone is found. Tanzanite is trichroic, which means it can show different tones depending on the angle you view it from, and the oval shape’s elongated, flowing outline gives that effect plenty of room to play. With a hardness of 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs scale, it’s best suited to a protected setting such as a pendant or a ring with a bezel or halo. It’s sold as a loose stone only, ready for a jeweller of your choice to set into a bespoke design. We ship insured from our Perth studio to anywhere in Australia.
